Round 9 Match Review & Jersey Auction

Round 9 Match Review & Jersey Auction

At the Logan Metro Sports Complex, both our BMD and HPC teams faced off against the Western Clydesdales in what turned out to be a thrilling display of rugby league prowess. It was a special occasion as both teams proudly sported our special edition Pink Jerseys, a symbolic gesture in support of our ongoing live auction to raise funds for Small Steps 4 Hannah.

The BMD Premiership side engaged in a fiercely contested battle against the Clydesdales, with the scoreboard deadlocked at 10-10 heading into halftime. Despite facing a multitude of injuries in the first half, our girls exhibited remarkable resilience and determination. The game concluded in a 22-22 draw, unfortunately marking the end of our girls' journey in the competition. Though they won't progress to the finals, we couldn't be prouder of their unwavering efforts throughout the season.

Meanwhile, in the Hostplus Cup encounter, the Clydesdales made an early breakthrough, but our Magpies swiftly responded, with Jordan Pereira notching his first of two tries of the day. At halftime, the Clydesdales held a slender 12-10 lead. However, in a gripping second half, our Magpies mounted a stirring comeback, holding on to a hard-fought 24-18 victory.

The atmosphere at the Metro Sports Complex was buzzing, with the Brisbane Broncos Cheer Squad and Buck the Bronco adding to the excitement. We were also thrilled to host several Under 8's games from our Junior Affiliate corridor. Great to see the turn out at our Logan home. Our next home game will be at Davies Park, keep an eye out for details to come.
