Sunday's away clash against the Central Queensland Capras produced one of the Magpies Women's best performances of the season so far, a dominant 32-20 win that will have the competition taking notice.

The Magpies were electric from the opening whistle. Joeannah Naime crossed inside two minutes to open the scoring, Skyla Adams converting to make it 0-6. Te Rina Pearse then produced a moment of brilliance in the 11th minute, breaking the line twice before finishing to extend the lead to 0-10. The Capras hit back twice, but the Magpies kept coming. Ngatokotoru Arakua and Kiarah Siauane both crossing to have the Magpies firmly in control at 20-10 at the break.

The Capras came out fighting in the second half and hit back to make it interesting, but the Magpies had enough. Tyler Birch and Chante Bates both crossed to put the result beyond doubt, and the Magpies held firm to run out convincing winners.

32-20. Away from home. A statement win.

Siauane and Pearse were outstanding, and Naime's first-minute try set the tone from the jump. This group is building. Watch this space.
