Sunday's clash against the Redcliffe Dolphins at Davies Park was a dominant home performance from the Magpies, who led from start to finish and ran out convincing 32-10 winners.
The Magpies were clinical from the opening whistle. Tyler Coburn crossed in the 14th minute after a Jesse Arthars line break and Billy Walters kick, before Pride Petterson-Robati added another in the 19th and Billy Walters crossed in the 27th, Floyd Aubrey converting to have the Magpies out to a commanding 16-0 lead. The Dolphins struck right on half time through Kyle Coghill to make it 16-6 at the break, giving themselves a foothold heading into the sheds.
The Dolphins crossed again early in the second half through Jude Saldanha to make it 16-10 and the game was briefly in the balance. But the Magpies steadied and took control. Jack Anderson crossed in the 59th minute, before Michael Waqa crossed twice late in the game, Jesse Arthars converting both to seal a comfortable 32-10 victory.
A polished and professional performance from a side building genuine momentum at the right end of the season. It was a masterclass from our forward pack and we cannot wait to see them take the field again next week during Indigenous Round.
