Round 11 Match Review

Round 11 Match Review

Saturday's clash against the Burleigh Bears at UAA Park was one of the special away performances of the season and a very exciting kick as we near half way through the season.

Callum Eggerling set the tone very early in the opening minutes, breaking the line and finishing to open the scoring. Floyd Aubrey added another in the 10th, then Aublix Tawha crossed in the 15th, Hayze Perham converting all three to have the Magpies out to an extraordinary 18-0 lead against the reigning grand finalists on their home turf.

Burleigh hit back with a stunning swing that could have broken the Magpies' spirit through Phillip Coates twice and Callum Gromek to head into the break 14-20 in favour of the Magpies.

Out of the sheds, Anthony Milford crossed in the 59th minute, Tyler Coburn added another in the 65th, and a cool Milford field goal pushed the margin to 31-20. When Burleigh crossed late through Coates to make it 31-22, the Magpies held firm.

A 31-22 win. Away. Against Burleigh. Onto the next, we are excited.
