On Wednesday, November 12, CEO Steven Bretherton and Head Coach Karmichael Hunt had the pleasure of handing over the proceeds from our 2025 Pink Jersey Initiative, proudly donating $5,060 to Small Steps 4 Hannah.
This marks the third consecutive year of our annual Pink Jersey Fundraiser, bringing our total contribution to over $15,000 in support of the foundation’s mission to end domestic and family violence.
Earlier this season, on Sunday, August 10, our Hostplus Cup and BMD Premiership teams took the field at Davies Park wearing specially designed pink jerseys to raise awareness for the cause. Both teams claimed strong wins over the Mackay Cutters — but the real victory came off the field.
Following the matches, the jerseys were auctioned, with all proceeds directed to Small Steps 4 Hannah. In the lead-up to the game, we were also fortunate to welcome Dave Kramer from the foundation, who delivered their HALT program to our playing group. The session reinforced the importance of the initiative’s message to prevent violence in our homes and communities and reminded us all of our role in helping create safer, kinder environments.
We are incredibly proud to stand alongside Small Steps 4 Hannah and to contribute to the vital work they do each and every day.
A heartfelt thank you to the foundation, our players, members, and supporters who continue to make this initiative such a success. Together, we’re taking small steps toward a safer future.
