Every year, the Magpies stand alongside the Small Steps 4 Hannah Foundation in the fight to prevent domestic and family violence across Australia. This Sunday, August 9, that partnership takes centre stage at Davies Park when our Hostplus Cup and BMD Premiership sides run out against the Mackay Cutters for Women in League Round, proudly wearing a specially designed Pink SS4H Jersey for the occasion. Hostplus Cup kicks off at 1:30pm, with BMD to follow at 3:30pm.
More than just a kit for the day, this jersey carries real weight, a visible reminder of awareness, respect, and hope for those affected by family violence. Once the final whistle blows, the jerseys worn on field will be signed by our players and put up for auction, with every dollar raised going straight to Small Steps 4 Hannah's H.A.L.T. program.
This cause holds special meaning for our club. Hannah's father, Lloyd Clarke, is a much-loved former Souths player, and that connection is at the heart of why the Magpies are so committed to backing this foundation. Small Steps 4 Hannah exists to H.A.L.T the cycle of domestic violence through education and support for families across the country, a mission we're proud to stand behind. Every bid placed in the auction is more than a purchase; it's a statement of support for a cause working to bring real change to our communities.
Since launching the initiative in 2023, Souths have raised over $15,700 for Small Steps 4 Hannah, and this year, we're aiming higher than ever to build on that total.
