The Souths Logan Magpies are through to the 2026 BMD Premiership Grand Final after defeating minor premiers Norths Devils in a hard-fought Preliminary Final at Premiers’ Park.
After finishing fourth at the end of the regular season, the Magpies were forced to take the long road through the finals. Following an impressive 30–16 Elimination Final victory over the Ipswich Jets in the first round, a red hot Devils side stood between the Magpies and a place in the biggest game of the year.
Both sides produced a tight and fiercely contested game of finals football. The Magpies matched Norths through the middle, defended strongly when put under pressure, and continued to find ways to build momentum throughout the contest.
As the game wore on, Souths Logan continued to rise to the occasion. With both sides fighting to keep their season alive, the Magpies showed composure in the key moments and held firm when it mattered most to secure the victory with a 30 - 24 scoreline booking their spot at Kayo Stadium.
The result continues an impressive finals run for the Magpies, who now turn their focus to the Grand Final. The work, commitment and grit shown throughout the season has brought the team to this point, with one final challenge remaining.
Attention now turns to the 2026 BMD Premiership Grand Final at Kayo Stadium this Saturday, 26 September.
