ROUND 21 | Coach’s Review

The weekend saw us take on the Sunshine Coast Falcons in our final game at Davies Park for the season. Unfortunately the players put in their worst performance of the year going down 46-12.

Missing 7 regulars’ first graders was always going to make things tough for us, but that is no excuse for our defensive effort on the weekend. Quite simply, too many players just weren’t prepared to put their body on the line. Losing is always disappointing but it was the performance more so than the score line that disappointed me the most.

We have a week now to dust ourselves off and get ready for an important encounter against the CQ Capras. Yesterday’s loss still only leaves us 1 point outside the top six with four rounds to play. So finals football is very much still within our reach.

I don’t expect to be getting any injured players back in the short term so it’s up to the group that went around on the weekend to make sure that they don’t ever repeat that type of performance again.
