Round 12 – Match Review

Josh Hannay

What a fantastic win by the boys yesterday. The players put in arguably their best performance of the year to defeat the Northern Pride 24-18 in Cairns.

In what we’re hot, humid conditions the players showed plenty of character and controlled the game from the opening whistle. While the score remained close for the majority of the game, I thought our guys were the dominant side. But to the prides credit, they never let us get too far in front on the scoreboard.

There were too many good performers to single any one individual out. It really was a team effort. I would like to make a special mention however of young Brad Frith who made his debut. “Frithy” made a great impact when he came on to the field at hooker and didn’t look out of place at all.

This weekend will see us back at home after 5 weeks on the road. We will be taking on the Mackay Cutters who will be desperate and fresh coming off the bye. It’s important we continue to build on the momentum we have at the moment and put in another great performance against Mackay.
