The week that was…

Endorphins are high after another great week at the Nest, due to the pronounced on field performances over the last couple of weeks.

This weekend we take on a massive challenge, traveling to Port Moresby to play the PNG Hunters at home on Sunday afternoon. Without George Fai and Joe Boyce who were both injured last round, it will certainly be tough, but I know the boys are looking forward to the challenge.

Round 14 marks another milestone for one of our juniors and favourite young players, Scott Doyle, who will play his 50th first grade game for the Magpies. Scott has had an outstanding season highlighted by his selection in the Queensland Residents team. Scotty’s 50 games for the Magpies is a great achievement for a fantastic young player and is a credit to the Magpie Family.

Great news also this week with the council giving the club a permit to operate a bi-monthly Friday night Food Festival, which will be a vibrant inclusion to the West End Calender. With food trucks, food stalls, movies in the park, activities on the green space for the kids, live music and more! Stay tuned, we will be posting the initial start date in the coming weeks.
