A Word From CEO Jim McClelland – 23 May

By Ben MacFie

The week that was…

Back to back wins over the last fortnight has placed the club back in to the top 5,

These results have come about through excellent performances against the Pride and the Blackhawks.

It was great to see our former coach Josh Hannay in the sheds singing the song in Townsville and furthermore back at Davies Park, watching on from the sideline against the Pride on Sunday.

It’s smiles all around from Coach Jon Buchannan and his players alike; as they enjoy the environment and professional approach at the Magpies in 2017.

It’s particularly pleasing to note over the last couple of weeks we have had 9 juniors playing in the side.

That statistic is testament to the corridor, which we represent, and the strong support we receive from all of the junior clubs involved, and development work we have undertaken through those clubs.

A special thanks to all Magpies supporters for your support in 2017.

The players consistently tell me how appreciative and inspired they are by all those who make the effort to regularly attend games

Leagues Club Update

Once again I need to acknowledge the contributions from Aleki and his team working within the projects on our site at Davies Park.

This week the old courtyard timber deck has been removed, of which the materials will later be repositioned for the new clubhouse patio.

We are away this weekend as we face Easts Tigers at Langlands Park, but don’t forget we are back at home against reigning competition premiers Burleigh Bears the week after (June 4).
