Saturday the 20th of August marks one of the greatest milestones in the 108 year history of the Magpies.

Our captain and arguably one of the clubs greatest ever players, plays 200 first grade games for the club he has devoted  the past 11 years too, after playing a season at both Wests and Easts. He has achieved this milestone through his commitment, passion, drive and devotion to the team and the club he represents.

Phil Dennis bleeds black and white, and it’s his courage and mental toughness, over his 11 years with us, that has been the driving force behind the Magpies.

Phil has represented QLD and was selected in the QRL 20 year cup team in 2015, this along with his 200 first grade games, where he has never played a single reserve grade game, makes him not only a legend of the Magpies but indeed the game at our level.

I have said in the past how lucky I have been over many years to have witnessed some of the greats of our game don the Magpie jersey, and I have always said that Phil Dennis will always be recognised as one of the best to wear the jersey.

So on Saturday night at 6pm, take a moment to acknowledge the great achievement of one of our greatest ever players. A man who has dedicated his career to a club that he loves so dearly, a person of such great character and an outstanding human being.

Philly D the most capped first grade player in the history of the Magpies, the club salutes you.
