Our Co Captain Dan Tamou is back for the Magpies next season! Unfortunately Dan was injured earlier this season and we haven’t been able to see much of his on the Paddock this year.We can’t wait to have him back on the field next year!

We would also like to congratulate Dan on the Birth of his baby girl Isyabella!

Scott Doyle

Scotty Doyle is back for the Magpies in 2018! Scott has had a massive year of football, being selected for the QLD Residents and playing outstanding footy for the Magpies. Scott is one of many Souths Logan Juniors playing for the Magpies.

Simi Fatafehi

Simi is a Souths Logan Junior he is nephew of Richo and Floyd Hill and we are very excited to see where his pedigree will take him in the game. Exciting things ahead for Simi & the Magpies in 2018.

Daniel Russell

Dan was a standout for the Magpies earlier this year before getting injured early on. Hopefully we will see him back on the Paddock for the Magpies before the end of this season.

Luke Archer

A long standing first grade player with the Magpies, Luke’s work off the field is just as important as the role he plays on the field, a very rare breed of player who doesn’t come along very often.

Reece Melville

Reece joined the Magpies before June 30th this season from Wynnum Manly, Debuting against Easts at Langland’s Park, Reece has quickly made his mark at the Magpies and we look forward to seeing where his career take him in 2018 and beyond.

Paul Rokolati

A very talented winger who played for the Magpies in 2015, Paul unfortunately had to return to Fiji and we are ecstatic that on his return he chose to come back to the Magpies. We look forward to seeing Paul in action 2018.

“Stoked to get another year for the Souths Logan Magpies under JB, can’t wait to see how we go next season” – Sam Lavea

An exciting signing for the the Souths Logan Magpies with the signing of Guy Hamilton. “I’m excited to play a big part & be able to contribute to a team that’s on the way up” Guy Hamilton

Jordan Scott

Jordan has been a stand out for us in his first year for the Souths Logan Magpies. With forward losses throughout the season.

Brendon Gibb

Brendon Gibb’s inclusion post the 30th of June was a welcome inclusion, bringing much needed aggression & experience in his role

Uiti Baker
The club is very excited to have signed Uiti, we have followed his career through our previous affiliation with the Canberra Raiders & we are looking forward to seeing his career blossom at the Magpies.

Darcy Maroske
The Souths Logan Magpies are thrilled to have singed Darcy Maroske. A talented young player who has been in an elite system through the Bulldogs, also representing QLD U20’s. Another young forward being added to our already very strong forward pack. “Excited to play for the black and white next year & under JB”

Sam is a young front rower on the rise and we are very excited to have Sam choose the Magpies to forward his career. “The boys made be feel at home when I moved up from Lismore & I cannot wait to put the jersey on again for the Souths Logan Magpies In 2018,” Sam Elliott

Travis WaddellThis years Pat Phelan (Player of the year) Travis Waddell is back for the Magpies in 2018! Phil Dennis

He’s back for another year, Souths Logan Magpies favourite Son Phil Dennis! With 254 games under his belt and only 16 more games to not only make Magpies history but history for the game, could see the great man the most every capped player in Intrust Super Cup history, overtaking Troy Lindsay on 270 games (no pressure). Still a massive player in our game and to see the boys spirits lift whenever Phil hits the field is an absolute pleasure to watch. “Always an honour to play and re-sign with the Magpies. I’m looking forward to the 2018 season and helping build on this seasons efforts,” Phil Dennis.

A WORD FROM THE CEO | ED.11

CEO Report

Jim McClelland | Friday 4/08/17 9.18am

The week that was…

After a well-deserved weekend off, the boys are preparing for another road trip to Cairns, this weekend, to take on the Northern Pride. In what will be a very important game for the boys at this time of the season, we need to be up against an improving Pride side on their home ground.

This week also sees our Club Captain Phil Dennis reach yet another milestone in his career, by playing his 250th Intrust Super Cup game. Phil is the highest capped ever Magpie in our 109 year history and I’ve said it on several occasions, I’ve witnessed some of the greats play the game and represent the Magpies over my time at the club and Phil would not be out of place in any era. He is a credit to the club, the game and most importantly himself. Always leading by example and the club once again acknowledges the great achievements of one of its favourite sons, Philly D.

Also exciting news for our Co Captain this week Dan Tamou and his wife Bianca, giving birth to their first child Iysabella. It’s been a disappointing year for Dan, with his injury keeping him out for the season. This week is certaintely a highlight for Dan and Bianca.

Don’t forget if you’re in Brissy and are looking to watch some footy over the weekend, our Colts are playing the Sunshine Coast Falcons at Logan Brothers at 4.45pm Saturday, so please get out and support the young Magpies.

Until next week…

Jim McClelland | CEO
